Founding practice at The Hidden Elm
Specialist tutoring and learning support for children — building confidence, regulation and strong learning habits in a calm, considered space.
Who are we?
Thinking Space for Kids was founded by Tamara, an experienced educator with a deep commitment to supporting children who learn differently. Our approach is intentionally different. We create calm, supportive learning spaces where children can slow down, feel successful, and re-engage with learning in a positive way. Sessions are structured and highly responsive, meeting each child at their point of need, wherever that may be.
We focus on building confidence alongside strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, attention, and regulation, so learning feels achievable rather than stressful. Standardised assessments are used to track progress and measure response to intervention over time, ensuring support is effective and continually refined.
Thinking Space for Kids is not about rushing or keeping up. It is about helping children feel capable, understood, and willing to engage, so they leave feeling better than when they arrived and want to come back.

She has a particular interest in understanding how children learn and supporting students who need a different approach to access the curriculum.
Tamara believes children should be met where they are, not defined by their year level. She focuses on recognising individual strengths and finding different ways to access learning, so each child can make meaningful progress.
